I
stay in an apartment in Thane ( Maharashtra, India) with most amenities available viz clubhouse, gym,
swimming pool, kids play area, small garden, and indoor game zone. Whenever my
father used to visit my apartment, he used to spend lots of time chatting with
our apartment security guard and I never liked it, sort of Ego Issue.
I
used to think, can't he find anybody of his age from residents to talk to or
connect with if at all he has to.
I
never told him this feeling and it kept bothering me whenever he visited our
apartment. Then suddenly one day while writing a diary, like this incident,
randomly, it struck my mind that, during periods of our financial hardship, he
had also worked as a security guard of a residential apartment in Bhandup (Mumbai, Maharashtra, India- where I was
brought up). Then I realized that maybe he is able to connect with them
better. Maybe he is more comfortable talking to them than to other senior
citizens of our apartment. Maybe he loves the interaction as he is able to
relate to them better.
Now
I also join him
